About Us

Manse Medical is a trusted respiratory and sleep health provider servicing regional and metropolitan communities across Victoria. We are expanding our research and clinical capability and are looking for an enthusiastic Research Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

This diverse position involves supporting clinical research projects while also assisting in the delivery of lung function testing within our respiratory service. This is a part-time role, with flexibility required during busy periods. Travel between Ballarat and St Albans may be required. Key Responsibilities include:
  • Participant recruitment, consent, and data collection
  • Coordinating research visits and maintaining study documentation
  • Conducting lung function testing (e.g., spirometry, FeNO) under ATS/ERS standards
  • Ensuring equipment calibration and patient safety during tests
  • Accurate data entry and management
  • Supporting respiratory and research teams with administrative tasks

About You

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and committed to providing high-quality clinical and research support. Applicants must have:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data management skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and initiative
Essential:
  • Experience in a research, clinical, or healthcare support role
Desirable:
  • Experience in respiratory diagnostics or lung function testing
  • Accredited spirometry/lung function training
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Qualification (or progress toward) in a health or science-related field

About Manse Medical Manse Medical is a specialised healthcare provider committed to delivering high-quality respiratory and sleep health services to regional, rural and metropolitan communities. With a strong focus on evidence-based care, innovation, and patient wellbeing, we partner with general practitioners, specialists, hospitals, and allied health professionals to provide timely diagnosis, management, and support for sleep disorders and respiratory conditions.  Our multidisciplinary team of doctors, scientists, technicians, CPAP consultants, paraprofessionals, and healthcare professionals work collaboratively to ensure patients receive comprehensive care in a compassionate and accessible environment. About the Role:
  • Provide individual nutrition assessments and develop tailored nutrition and lifestyle plans.
  • Support patients in managing sleep and respiratory conditions, as well as related chronic health concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, clinical assistants, administration and other allied health professionals.
  • Contribute to patient education and health promotion initiatives.
Key Requirement:
  • Tertiary qualification in Nutrition and accreditation (or eligibility) with the Nutrition Society of Australia (NSA) or relevant professional body.
  • Experience in clinical or community nutrition, preferably within chronic disease management or respiratory/sleep health.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care.
